Plans of Development Construction works of the new international Terminal III have already begun. The new investment is estimated for over 200mln. PLN. New terminal will handle about  3 mln. pax. per year.  Also the new apron, the capacity of which enables to operate four Boeings 737 simultaneously, has been accomplished.  It makes our airport capable of operating seven Boeings 373 at the same time, what means Lodz airport can operate as a backup airport for Okęcie as well as other regional airports. Designers are working on rail shuttle bus, which will bring passengers directly to terminal.   Polish Air Traffic Agency is due for building new air traffic control tower and extending navigation systems. The airport prepares for operating cargo flights, especially for the sake of Dell Company’s interests. Airport authorities negotiate the establishment of aircraft’s base of one particular carrier. According to the Airport’s survey the majority of passengers being handled in Lodz Airport come form neighbor regions: Mazowsze, Wielkopolska, Kujawy, Śląsk. What attracts people is an easy access to the airport, low parking fares, extremely short departure time and most of all attractive tickets prices. Investment is sponsored by the Airport Ltd’ shareholders (City authorities, Regional administration) from governmental subsidies, European funds (The regional Operational Program for Lodz Region, for the years 2007-2013) as well as own Airport’ funds.
